What the clinic does

Consultation, testing and follow-up under one roof, with interventional procedures carried out at attached hospitals across Andheri, Bandra and Vile Parle.

2D echocardiography

Ultrasound of the heart to assess pumping function, valves and chamber size — reported the same visit.

ECG

A twelve-lead recording of the heart's rhythm and electrical conduction.

Stress test

Treadmill testing to look for reduced blood supply to the heart during exertion.

Angioplasty

Opening blocked coronary arteries with a stent, including complex and long-standing total blockages.

Pacemakers

Implantation and follow-up of pacemakers and defibrillators for slow or dangerous heart rhythms.

Advanced imaging

Cardiac MRI, CT coronary angiography and 3D echocardiography, including congenital heart disease in adults and children.

Building paediatric cardiac imaging in Mumbai

Paediatric and congenital cardiac imaging is thinly served in Mumbai, despite the number of congenital cases passing through the city's teaching hospitals.

This is the gap behind the 2026 fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital, from April to August, where he reported over 150 cardiac MRIs and 50 cardiac CTs across the range of congenital diagnoses.

The approach is to pair a cardiologist's reading of haemodynamics and outcomes with subspecialty imaging, so that a scan answers the question the surgeon or interventionalist actually has. The goal is a dedicated paediatric and congenital cardiac MRI and CT service in Mumbai, beginning with a proposal to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.

Seeing the heart three ways

Diagnosis often turns on picking the right test. These are the three that shape most decisions in this practice.

SHORT-AXIS CINE · ILLUSTRATION

Cardiac MRI

The reference standard for muscle. It measures pumping function precisely and, uniquely, shows scar — which decides who benefits from a stent, a device, or neither.

MITRAL VALVE, EN FACE · ILLUSTRATION

3D echocardiography

A live volume of the valve as a surgeon would see it. It shows exactly where a leak comes from, which is what determines whether a valve can be repaired or clipped.

CTO RECANALISATION · ILLUSTRATION Chronic total occlusion Guidewire crossing Balloon dilatation Stent deployed Flow restored

CTO angioplasty

Reopening an artery that has been completely blocked for months. A wire is steered through the blockage, the vessel is dilated and stented, and blood reaches the muscle beyond it again.

These three panels are hand-drawn animated diagrams made for this page, not recordings of any patient. No patient images are published on this site.

CHIP-CTO India 2026 — Best Complex Case

New Delhi. Third overall, and first among the cases entered from India.

The award recognises complex coronary work: chronic total occlusions and high-risk anatomy, the cases where getting the artery open takes longer and asks more of the operator.

Teaching, imaging and research

Clinical practice runs alongside an academic post at LTMG Hospital and doctoral work in cardiac device engineering at IIT Bombay.

At LTMG Hospital, Sion, he is Assistant Professor of Cardiology and has led the echocardiography laboratory since 2022. He has read cardiac MRI and CT with the radiology department since 2021, under the mentorship of Dr Nitin Burkule.

His doctoral research with the MED-TRIC group at IIT Bombay, supervised by Prof. Soumyo Mukherjee, asks what a pacemaker looks like once both the lead and the battery are taken out of the picture: wireless charging by magnetic beamforming, communication through body tissue, dual-chamber leadless pacing, and a leadless defibrillator.
